(Task website http://i-net.csd.auth.gr )
Organisations responsible for implementation of the task
• Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of Informatics, Programming Languages and Software Engineering Lab http://lpis.csd.auth.gr
• Singular Software S.A. www.singularsoftware.gr
• Synolon S.A. www.synolon.gr

Task Description
This task deals with the development of an innovative technological platform I-NET (Interoperability Enterprise NetWork) for the unhindered, flexible, adaptive and interoperable execution of business-to-business transactions. Specifically, the consortium of the proposed project will optimise and extend the existing prototype, yet functional, PRAXIS system (http://www.praxisnet.gr).
Project "PRAXIS - Interconnection of Applications and Execution of Inter-Business Transactions via Internet", which was the biggest research project that was supported by the operational program Information Society had as an objective the research, development and prototype application of the essential methodologies, infrastructures and instrumentation that will allow the typical, usually small and intermediate, Greek enterprise to execute all its Business-to-Business (B2B) transactions via the internet and more specifically through the interconnection of classic applications for the management of operational resources with the corresponding systems of other enterprises, banks and services of the Greek state.

Expected Results
Within this framework the PRAXIS system has been designed and developed so as to execute transactions between enterprises and organizations via a secure and reliable central server, which is in charge for the exchange of information in a secure way. The system is focused on the following types of transactions:
• Business to Business (B2B), which concern orders of products, purchases and sales.
• Business to Government (B2G), which mainly concern reports about the execution of Government procedures.
• Business to Intermediaries (B2I), such as insurance organizations or banks, which concern the exchange of personal and financial information.
• Exchange of information with other enterprises or service providers.
