Task Description
The purpose of this project is to monitor weather conditions and phenomena in a wide geographic area of Central Macedonia and to elaborate the real time transmission of data, images and motion, regarding weather from existing Weather Radar systems to everyday electronic devices (PCs, PDAs, Mobile phones) over broadband connections.
In plain words, the user will be able to have access through his/her personal device (PC, mobile, PDA) in dynamic, real time, reliable information regarding:
• Image, movement and power of storms and clouding
• Temperature and humidity
• Wind speed in various altitudes
• Raining probability, snow report and hail falling
• Calculation of rain water volume on the surface

Expected Results
Expected outcome from the proposed project is the improvement of meteorological development in real time with obvious use in various fields. More specifically:
• Agriculture: Farmers, cattle-breeder and fishermen will be able to organize their everyday tasks more safely and more productively.
• Sea navigation: The system increases vessel safety and navigation through convenient, targeted and current prognosis and active monitoring of extreme weather conditions (storms, winds etc.)
• Aviation: Similarly to sea navigation the on-time and on-place extreme weather warning will significantly contribute to aviation safety.
